Install Rock Blanket
Design Intent
This project was a simple design to upgrade the existing slopes along the westbound side of Route 10. The design intent is to change the existing vegetation to a rock blanket to minimize the maintenance and water requirements of the area.
Final Result
Over one acre of existing vegetation was removed, regraded, and compacted to prepare for the installation of the new rock blanket. Nearly 1,000 cubic yards of concrete were placed. Over 750 tons of rock cobble were set within a bed of concrete that was 10 inches in depth on a steep 1:1 slope. Nearly 47,000 square feet of rock blanket was installed. The project was finished out by trimming the existing palm trees, adding a new chain link maintenance gates, and installing permanent erosion control measures.
