Design Intent

This small project was designed to remove a deteriorating existing k-rail barrier and replace it with a new Type 60M concrete barrier.

Final Result

The project consisted of removing 280 linear feet of existing pinned krail to prepare for the construction the new concrete barrier. About 115 linear feet of the existing concrete barrier was demolished and removed. A total of 260 linear feet of new Type 60M concrete barrier was constructed. All existing roadway signs were removed on the off-ramp and upgraded with new posts and high-intensity sign panels. The project was completed by adding enhanced pavement markings and final striping. The area was revamped by adding hydro-mulch to the disturbed areas of construction.
